I am a UKCP registered Consultant Family and Couples Systemic Psychotherapist, with over thirty years of clinical experience. I am currently based at the Child and Family Practice, where I am the Founding Director of the London Intercultural Couples Centre. Before moving into independent practice, I trained and worked for many years at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust Foundation.
I was the Editor of the Journal of Family Therapy and the CEO of the Association of Family Therapy and Systemic Practice. I am the author and editor of four books and numerous articles on intercultural couple relationships, issues of ‘race’, culture and qualitative research. I joined a team of American scholars as the only non American Associate Editor of the Handbook of Systemic Family Therapy.
In 2022, I won the British Sikh awards for Outstanding Achievement of the Year. I worked as a Visiting Professor at the University of Bergamo and currently work as an Associate Faculty member at the Singapore University of Social Studies. I present my work at national and international conferences and teach all over the world.
